Day 2: Bogotá – City Tour with Monserrate and Lunch

Breakfast. Panoramic and walking tour of Bogotá’s historic center, through streets lined with façades in Colonial and Republican architectural styles. Visit the Banco de la República Art Museum including the Botero Museum to see one of Colombia’s most renowned art collections by master Fernando Botero. Continue to Bolívar Square to admire the Palace of San Carlos, the Casa de Nariño (Presidential residence), the Primatial Cathedral, the National Capitol, and the Liévano Palace. Visit the Gold Museum to explore its rooms showcasing Pre-Columbian goldsmith pieces, one of the country’s most important museums. Ascend via cable car or funicular to Monserrate Hill to visit the Sanctuary and enjoy a panoramic view of the city. The visit ends with a typical lunch at a restaurant in the historic center. Return to the hotel. Accommodation.

Panoramic city tour visiting the most important sites. Explore Medellín’s historic downtown and listen to local musicians and traditional Guasca music at Parque Berrío. Walk to the famous Plaza Botero with an open-air exhibit of Colombian artist Fernando Botero’s sculptures, a city emblem. Take the metro cable to the Santo Domingo commune, a formerly violence-affected area. The metro cable was built to connect peripheral neighborhoods with the city center, offering visitors insight into the lives of marginalized populations. Enjoy spectacular views while learning about Medellín’s transformation. Return to hotel.

Day 4: Medellín – Peñol Dam and Guatapé Tour

BreakfastDepart hotel to visit towns like Marinilla with colonial architecture and strong religious traditions, and Nuevo Peñol, a town rebuilt after the original Peñol was flooded to create the Peñol-Guatapé reservoir in the late 1970s. Visit the Peñol Rock, a 220-meter tall monolith. Finally, visit Guatapé, known for its colorful 20th-century house bases and façades, plus the reservoir’s boardwalk. Return to hotel at day’s end. Climbing the Peñol Rock (659 steps) is optional and not included. Accommodation.

Cartagena is one of Colombia’s top tourist destinations, full of joy, flavor, and Caribbean color. The tour starts at Bocagrande with its beaches and commercial zones, continues through the Manga neighborhood showcasing a mix of republican architecture and modern buildings, and arrives at San Felipe de Barajas Castle, built in the 17th century by Spaniards to defend against pirates and later the English. End with a walk through the historic center and a visit to the Emerald Museum. Return to hotel, rest of day free. Accommodation.
