IGLOO NIGHT (ADULT AND CHILD) (PER NIGHT) $868.00 USD

On days 4 and 5, you will experience an authentic igloo where you will spend the night. Here, at the foot of the mountains, you will stay in an igloo. The Igloo Lodge consists of five spacious igloos, each with capacity for two people. The beds are covered with reindeer furs and warm winter sleeping bags. The temperature inside the igloo is around freezing point, a strong contrast to the estimated -20°C outside. The wooden cabin next to the lodge is where meals are served. The journey to the Igloo Lodge is also an experience itself: you will be transported by dog sled for approximately one hour through the outskirts of Ilulissat, with incredible views along the way. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed with coffee and lunch. Later in the afternoon there will be coffee and cake, followed by dinner and evening coffee, after which you may step outside to watch for the northern lights. Afterward, you can retire to your igloo. In the morning, breakfast will be served, and finally you will return to civilization by dog sled with your huskies.

HELICOPTER TOUR (ADULT AND CHILD)  $1,138.00 USD

Helicopter in the ice. The Ilulissat Icefjord and the Kangia Glacier are the highlight of a 1.5-hour helicopter tour that takes you directly into the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. No boat or hiking route can get you as close to the massive glacier, and you will see it all from above. The helicopter departs from Ilulissat Airport and flies as low as safety and regulations allow over mountains, lakes, rivers, and the Icefjord until reaching a mountain at the edge of the ice sheet. Here, we will have 30 minutes to enjoy the views. We then fly over the glacier front and follow the Icefjord for 70 kilometers on our way back.

Day 3: Copenhague - Nuuk - Ilulissat

  • Breakfast. Departure from Copenhagen, taking the flight at 8:30 a.m. with an approximate duration of 4 hours, arriving at the world’s largest island. After a short stop in Nuuk, we continue to Ilulissat on a smaller aircraft. It is an incredible flight that allows you to admire the magnificent icy landscape, the barren wilderness, and the vastness of the Arctic. During the approach to Ilulissat, the town will appear to be located in the middle of nowhere. The colorful houses contrast with the snowy mountains, and you will be welcomed by days filled with ice, winter, and dog sleds, combined with cultural elements of a modern yet very authentic Greenlandic community. Arrival at Hotel Arctic and check-in at this magnificent four-star hotel. We will take a city tour to learn about the history of the town and experience many interesting aspects, including the numerous sled dogs that live here. Most dogs remain outside the town on a husky farm, as otherwise they would be roaming freely through the streets. Ilulissat means “icebergs,” which becomes self-explanatory once you see the city. Accommodation.

day 4: Ilulissat

  • Breakfast. Icebergs in Disko Bay. Today we will enjoy the absolute beauty of Disko Bay, one of Greenland’s most popular tourist destinations. Mainly because of the ice, but also due to the beauty of the landscape, its cultural attractions, and the interaction between traditional lifestyle and modern city life. We will visit the Sermermiut settlement, where stunning views of icebergs form the backdrop of the ancient settlement located 1.5 kilometers south of Ilulissat. For 4,000 years, different Inuit cultures lived in this settlement. We will learn about the history of Indigenous life and traditions before the arrival of Europeans in Greenland. We will see the ruins and touch the permafrost with our own hands. We will pass through “Kællingekløften,” where you can enjoy magnificent views of the Icefjord before returning. We will also sail among icebergs. Almost all visitors to Ilulissat choose to take this incredible boat trip at least once. Every day, more than 40 million tons of ice flow into the fjord. The icebergs are gigantic, sometimes over 100 meters wide and more than 60 meters high above the water. These giants gather at the end of the fjord, giving you a unique opportunity to sail among them. In the evening, we will take an excursion to see the Northern Lights – chasing the dancing lights of the sky. The aurora borealis is one of the most enchanting natural wonders of the Arctic. On calm and clear winter nights, you may be lucky enough to witness this magical light show over the dark Ilulissat horizon. Join us on an atmospheric night excursion into nature, away from city lights. Here, under an open sky full of stars, we create the perfect setting to enjoy the silence and, hopefully, the dancing aurora borealis. During the excursion, we will talk about the aurora, share Greenlandic legends and myths, and explore the beauty of the Arctic night sky. (This excursion is only operated in clear weather. If the sky is cloudy, the tour will be canceled the same day and every effort will be made to reschedule. Please note that even in clear weather, the northern lights are not guaranteed—nature always has the final word.)

Day 5: Ilulissat

  • Breakfast. Today we will continue enjoying this wonderful city. We will take a 1-hour dog sledding ride, one of the most iconic experiences in Greenland and an ancient Inuit tradition. There are not many means of transport that have survived so long without changes in appearance or technology: a team of cheerful dogs harnessed to a simply built wooden sled. The experience cannot be fully described—it must be lived. This ride usually takes place on flat terrain in a plain near Ilulissat. In addition to the sled driver, there are two participants per sled, so if you booked the excursion individually, you may be required to share the sled with another participant. However, all dogs are different, so if you travel with family or friends, we cannot guarantee that you will stay together during the entire ride, as some dogs are faster than others. Participants must be 12 years or older. Accommodation.

Day 6: Ilulissat

  • Breakfast. Today you can enjoy our wonderful excursions designed for you. Also, take advantage of the last day to experience the atmosphere and daily life of the city, travel back in time, and feel history at the cozy museum established in the birthplace of Knud Rasmussen. The fishermen at “Brættet,” the local market, will give you an insight into the interesting food products of Greenland. There is nothing fresher than this.Once you have satisfied your appetite for visual experiences, it is time to delight your palate and fill your stomach. Ilulissat’s restaurants invite you on a journey through local specialties such as Greenlandic sushi, fried ammassats (small fish), whale, and seal, while cafés offer freshly baked pastries that tempt every sweet tooth. A journey that engages all the senses. And by the way, admiring the Icefjord never gets old. Accommodation.
